A nationally-recognized leader in the credit union industry, Chip is an astute author, frequent speaker, and consultant for the credit union movement. Chip co-founded Callahan & Associates in 1985 and currently has more than 30 years of experience in government, financial institutions, and business.
Chip is a well-known speaker on a wide range of critical industry topics, including analysis of credit union trends, credit union public and market-facing opportunities, and strategies for enhancing member value. Chip's consulting background includes strategic planning sessions to identify how credit unions can improve their financial position while enhancing member return.
Recent credit union related analysis includes changes in the corporate credit union system, the NCUA's Corporate Stabilization role, and the need for regulatory reform.
Previously he held concurrent positions at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), as President of the Central Liquidity Facility (CLF) and Director of the Office of Programs, which included the NCUSIF and the examination process. He holds a magna cum laude undergraduate degree in government from Harvard; was a Rhodes Scholar at Merton College earning a BA and MA from the University of Oxford; and earned an MBA from Northwestern University.

Jay Johnson, executive vice president of Callahan & Associates, Inc., leads the company’s research and analysis of key trends and issues driving credit union performance in the marketplace. Jay regularly facilitates discussions on strategy and performance analysis with boards and senior management. He presents best practices in lending and deposit strategies, delivery channel management, and technology utilization to regional and national credit union conferences. Jay holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Jay is a CFA charter holder and holds Series 7 and Series 24 securities licenses. He currently serves on the NACUSO board of directors.

Jon Jeffreys is the vice president of Callahan Financial Services, a subsidiary of Callahan & Associates dedicated to expanding credit unions’ investment alternatives, and the president of CU Student Choice, a credit union-owned student lending CUSO. Jon oversees Callahan’s Credit Union Financial Services Limited Partnership (CUFSLP), which is a multi-owned CUSO that researches credit union business opportunities, including optimizing return on investments from web channels, alternative investments, and optimal title insurance solutions. He also serves on Callahan’s board of directors. Jon holds a BA in political science from Denison University in Granville, OH, and an MBA from the Kogod School of Management at American University in Washington, DC.

Talia Rocha is the Director of Client Engagement for Callahan Financial Services, a subsidiary of Callahan & Associates, and the Managing Partner of CUFSLP. Talia leads day to day operations by working with prospective and current clients, coordinating marketing plans and activities, interfacing with the Trust’s service partners, and supporting the sales team. Talia earned her bachelors degree in management and marketing from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She has experience in financial services having worked in the refinancing group at Wells Fargo Financial. More recently Talia was working at a full service broker dealer and retirement services corporation in Palm Beach, Florida.
